Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes
Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes is the Chairman of the Board of Governors of Epsom College Malaysia. Whilst possibly being most well-known for founding Air Asia, Tan Sri Fernandes is also an Old Epsomian of Epsom College in the United Kingdom (Holman House). Tan Sri Fernandes firmly believes that Epsom College was where he learned so much that shaped his ideas and beliefs.
Mr Mark Lascelles
Mr Mark Lascelles has been Head of Epsom College UK since September 2024, following 12 years as Head of Dauntsey’s School, a co-ed boarding and day school in Wiltshire. Mr Lascelles arrived at Epsom with an impressive record of transformational leadership within co-ed boarding education. Prior to Dauntsey’s, Mr Lascelles spent three years at The King’s School, Canterbury, two as Lower Master and one as the Acting Head; and 17 years at Shrewsbury School as Teacher of Geography, Coach for the 1st Football, Cricket and Fives teams, and a much-respected Boarding Housemaster.
Mr Gareth Lim
Mr Gareth Lim is the CEO of Ormond Group, and is passionate about hospitality and aviation. His career as a banker started at Morgan Stanley where he covered transportation across South East Asia. He subsequently joined serial entrepreneur Tan Sri Tony Fernandes in launching the limited service Tune Hotels group and long-haul, low-cost carrier AirAsia X, allowing him to bring together his twin passions. Prior to joining Ormond Group, Mr Lim spent a number of years helming a listed private equity firm with a particular focus in the hospitality and education sectors and working with start-up founders and entrepreneurs at venture builder Tune Labs. Mr Lim holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from St. Catharine’s College at the University of Cambridge.
Mr Ashley Head
Mr Ashley Head’s 30-year corporate career has seen him occupy the roles of Senior Vice President at Chase Manhattan Bank and Senior Vice President at Mastercard International. He has also built and sold four companies, including Datacash – a top 50 AIM company – which he sold to Mastercard in 2010. He currently is the Chair of seven companies. Mr Head also supports many charities, is a trustee of The National Emergencies Trust and The Stonegate Foundation, and is an ambassador to The Children’s Trust and The English National Opera.
Mr Mark Lankester
Mr Mark Lankester is an alumnus of Epsom College UK. Mr Lankester has spent many years as an executive at Warner Music Group, holding senior positions in Asia and Greater China. As CEO of Epsom College Malaysia, he is committed to delivering the prestigious British education that has led to his success, and is a testament to the transformative power of Epsom education.
Mr Motoyasu Sano
Motoyasu Sano serves as Chairman of the Board of the Sano Educational Foundation, Kanda Gaigo Group, with over 70 years of excellence in language and global education. He has led the development of respected institutions and innovative approaches to multicultural learning. He also plays a key role in the partnership with Epsom College UK and Malaysia in establishing Epsom College Tokyo. Mr Sano is committed to preparing students with the skills and global outlook to succeed internationally.
